For more than thirty years, Revival Baptist Church has faithfully served the city of Vancouver, Washington. Throughout these decades, God has blessed the church not only with numerical growth and fruitful ministries, but also with dedicated and faithful servants.
In recent years, the role of senior pastor was carried by Michael Cherenkov. At the end of 2024, he announced his transition to a new season of ministry. On November 16, with the participation of the President of our Church association, Pastor Alexander Pronin, a congregational meeting was held, during which Anatoliy Popov was elected as the next senior pastor of Revival Baptist Church.
About Pastor Anatoliy Popov
Anatoliy Popov is 48 years old. Together with his wife, Alyona, they are raising two children. He was born and raised in a Christian family in Druzhkivka, Ukraine. He repented and came to faith at an early age—at the age of ten—and renewed his commitment at fifteen. On August 21, 1993, at the age of sixteen, he was baptized in the church Light of the Gospel.
From 1992 to 2000, Anatoliy served in a music group and participated in tent missions in Ukraine and Russia. From 1999 to 2015, he served as the choir director at Light of the Gospel. Beginning in 2002, he also served as the head of the church’s music department and as a preacher. On November 30, 2008, he was ordained as a deacon and subsequently served as church administrator from 2008 to 2015.
In October 2015, Anatoliy and his family emigrated to the United States. Since January 2016, he has been a member of Revival Baptist Church. On December 10, 2023, he was ordained to pastoral ministry.
A Moment of Transition and Gratitude
On March 1, Senior Pastor Michael Cherenkov will officially pass the responsibility for the church to Anatoliy Popov.
“Two feelings fill my heart today,” Pastor Michael shared. “Deep gratitude to God for the journey we have walked together, and a humble expectation of what God will do next in the life of my family and in the life of our entire church. It is a great joy to be useful to Christ and His Church, and it is grace upon grace when there is someone to whom you can entrust the ministry.”
We ask you to pray for Revival Baptist Church, that it may continue to grow—welcoming new people and raising up new servants for the glory of God.
Michael Cherenkov
